FedEx Dangerous Goods Guidelines
Acceptable Items
These items are permitted by FedEx for shipment (unless prohibited by destination country):

- Gas oil, kerosene, or diesel fuel (flashpoint > 60°C)
- Automotive fluids (motor oil, brake fluid, transmission fluid, power steering fluid)
- Ethylene-glycol based antifreeze for vehicles
- Water-based paint
- Blue Ice
- Neon signs
- Freon in liquid form (non-compressed)
Unacceptable Items
FedEx Express will not accept:

- Any dangerous goods violating regulations
- Shipments to/from locations without dangerous goods service
- Radioactives with transport index > 10
- Explosives (except division 1.4)
- Hazardous/medical waste
- Division 6.1 substances (toxic) in packing group I or II without V-rated packaging
- Toxic gas (division 2.3)
- Infectious substances of risk group 4 (division 6.2)
Special Handling Requirements
Excepted Quantities
Small quantities of certain dangerous goods may be shipped as "Dangerous Goods in Excepted Quantities" with proper labeling.
Customs Requirements
Standard customs documentation applies to dangerous goods shipments.
Dry Ice Shipping Requirements
1. Packaging must:

- Allow carbon dioxide gas release
- Prevent pressure buildup
- Use sturdy fiberboard (not styrofoam) as outer packaging
2. Documentation requirements:

- For non-dangerous goods with dry ice: Mark package with "Dry Ice, 9, UN1845, [quantity] Kg"
- For dangerous goods with dry ice: Complete Shipper's Declaration of Dangerous Goods
- Include shipper/consignee addresses on package

Purolator Dangerous Goods Guidelines
Purolator's Dangerous Goods Shipping Policy:

Dangerous goods shipments can only be tendered by account customers either directly to a Purolator Shipping Centre or to a Purolator driver.

Shipments containing dangerous goods cannot be dropped at Purolator Drop Boxes or authorized shipping agents.

Acceptance of dangerous goods shipments occurs only after verification by a Purolator Dangerous Goods Specialist at a Purolator facility.

Customers have the option to select Adult Signature Required (ASR) service alongside Dangerous Goods (DG) shipments when using E-Ship® Online (ESO) and E-Ship® Web Service (EWS). This ensures such shipments are received only by adults.
DHL Dangerous Goods Guidelines
All shipments containing hazardous materials must be accurately classified, clearly described, securely packaged, appropriately marked, labeled, and maintained in suitable condition for safe transportation. For detailed guidelines regarding lithium batteries and items classified under Limited Quantity rules, please refer to our policies below.

- Limited Quantity Policy
DHL eCommerce only ships hazardous goods classified under the Limited Quantity and Consumer Commodity guidelines that are shipped via our Domestic “Ground” service and to Canada via Parcel Direct (PLT) ground destinations only. All shipments of this type must be approved prior to shipment.
Dangerous goods may NOT be shipped via Domestic “Expedited” service.
- Unacceptable Shipments
According to DHL eCommerce's policy, they will not carry items that are illegal, unsafe, or restricted by international and domestic regulations.
Prohibited Items
DHL eCommerce strictly prohibits the following goods:
- Dangerous & Hazardous Materials: Explosives, firearms (including replicas), ammunition, radioactive materials, and any goods violating IATA, ICAO, or DOT regulations.
- Restricted Substances: Narcotics, tobacco, nicotine, e-cigarettes, vaporizers, and alcoholic beverages.
- Living or Deceased: Live animals or human remains.
- High-Value Items: Cash, precious metals, jewelry, artwork, and any shipment valued over $2,500 USD.
- Hemp & THC: Any hemp-based products in the international network, or those exceeding 0.3% THC domestically.
- Sanctioned Goods: Items originating from or processed in Russia (specifically iron and steel for EU/UK import), or shipments to persons/countries on sanction lists.
- Immoral/Illegal Content: Counterfeit goods, brand piracy, pornography, or obscene articles.
Conditional & Restricted Goods
- Lithium Batteries: Forbidden in most international and expedited networks unless installed in equipment; Canada has specific exceptions.
- Liquids: Permitted only if packaged in secure, leak-proof containers with screw-on caps (no friction-tops). Breakable containers over 4 oz must be triple-packaged with absorbent material.
- Packaging: Shipments must have adequate packaging and required customs declarations.
DHL’s Rights
If a prohibited item is discovered, DHL may refuse the item, return it to the shipper, or redirect it via a different transport route (such as sea instead of air) at the shipper's expense. Shippers are liable for all claims resulting from the transport of prohibited goods.
Nationex Dangerous Goods Guidelines
Shipper Responsibilities
- Documentation & Labeling: Every shipment must be accurately described on all shipping documents and clearly labeled on external packaging in compliance with all laws.
- Compliance & Liability: Shippers are responsible for ensuring goods are legal, properly packaged, and safe for transport.
- Indemnity: If identification is inadequate, the shipper must compensate Nationex for any resulting losses, damages, or delays.
Restrictions & Fees
- Prohibited Items: Nationex strictly forbids explosives, radioactive materials, certain gases, organic peroxides, and water-reactive flammable substances.
- Costs & Timing: Dangerous goods shipments incur extra handling fees and typically require an additional delivery day.
- Storage: Non-compliant goods may be stored at the shipper’s expense and risk.
N.B. Nationex doesn’t transport any dangerous goods that requires an emergency intervention plan (P.1.U)
Canpar Express Dangerous Goods Guidelines
The following is a list of items cannot accepted:

- Bullion, currency, precious gems and minerals, or negotiable papers
- Plants or live creatures
- Goods requiring protection from heat or cold
- Furs, jewelry and watches exceeding a value of $200 per package
- Paintings and other art objects
- Household goods and/or personal effects not packaged properly in a box
- Weapons, explosives, ammunition, and parts thereof
Shipping by Air
A shipment will not be accepted for air transport under the following conditions:

It contains goods classified as hazardous, dangerous, prohibited, or restricted according to regulations set by the International Air Transport Association (IATA), International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), the European Agreement Concerning the International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road (ADR), or any relevant government agency or organization.

It includes counterfeit items, plants, animals, precious metals or stones, currency, bullion, tax stamps or banderols, negotiable instruments payable to bearer, real or imitation firearms (or their components), weapons, explosives, ammunition, human remains, pornography, illegal narcotics or drugs, aerosols, flammable liquids (including items such as dry ice, nail polish remover, nail polish, lighters, and perfume), or any other materials deemed unsafe or illegal for transport by Canpar Express and its affiliates.
